Stupid Newbie -> get your torch ready

i will be outside cleaning.

your window problem is probably caused by your window lock button wiring. There is a good article on here about how to fix it. But welcome aboard, this is a very good site.

Thank you, I just did a big search and found what you where talking about with the window lock, I dont think that is my problem, as i dont have power at all to that switch in the passanger door. HOWERVER, im going to do it anyway just to make sure. I have nothing to lose at this point.

Most of us have surely done questionable things according to the opinion of others...
Lets not become boyscouts shall we?

I don't believe it. I thought every one in the MWC was a boyscout!:looney::wierd: :laugh3:
I also think power windows are a pain in the ass.
By the way, Welcome Nighthawk. JIM.

I am the ONLY MWC boyscout....or I WAS...got kicked out....got caught eating a brownie. :D

don't you know the BSA encourages that sort of thing? NGot a supreme court ruling that says eating hot dogs isn't allowed in the BSA.

when I was a camp counselor the GSA camp was 1.5 miles through the woods.
You can run it in 15 minutes i nthe dark ;)

The switch that locks the window switches (next to the driver's side window switch) tends to go in and out on my '99.
Pushing it a couple times will sometimes work.

Bells and whistles are cool.
I even fabbed a bracket to keep the power seats when I switched to the Corbeaus.

A little civility in the uncivilized world of wheeling.

How dare you speed in a Jeep with a settled 3" lift?????
Down here, 80mph is only 5mph over the speed limit.

BTW, I have a Chilton's and a Haynes.

OMG he probably didnt have the front swaybar attached either!

:D :D

Don't you know XJs have unibodies?
You can't run them without a swaybar.
They'll folded like a taco.

SPOBI!

BUT...running without a front swaybar will make you liable in the event of an accident, no matter the circumstances, and you will be sent to a federal pound you in the azz prison.

:D

You could just tell them, that you removed the sway bar, because you don't want anything on your jeep that makes it sway.:dunce:

Nice XJ. Unless you are experienced in building rigs, become afilliated with a local club or group. Leave your new XJ at home and take some ride alongs with an experienced driver/owner/builder that you you can get along with and trust for advise. Don't trust the first guy that comes along. Too many in this activity like to use the greenhorn for their own purposes. The right individual will probably come to you. Ride observe ask questions (no matter how dumb you might think ) and eventually you will be able to develop a plan for building your trail rig. Don't start throwing money at your rig unless you have a plan. Remember, every mod requires changes. For instance, don't buy 36" tires with a 3" lift. Every mod has it's purpose and limitations. Geometry, flex and torc can be your friend or foe. :rtm:

Another thing to remember. When you go out on the trail with that shiny XJ, there are some people that will deliberately get you into situations they know will cause problems. :scottm: They want to see you get unnecessary body damage. Experience is your best protection.

On the radio. Consider the Courier that has the speaker and controls in the microphone and the main unit mounts under the dash or in hiding somewhere of your choice out of the way.

Chilton and other repair books are usually useless for most situations you really need info. They just fill pages with generic tripe that gets you to buy it. get a book the pros use, Factory Service Manual.

Same here. I've never been on a NAXJA run official or unofficial where someone was "forced". I've actually seen others go to great lengths to help out so someone does not get any trail scars.

Sounds like Buckeye's wheeling buddies aren't really buddies.
