Stuck in 4wd

I just had a advance adapters sye installed and everything works fine except when i transfer out of 4wd back to 2wd. no matter how far i reverse it is stuck in 4wd i know this because i can unlock the front by switching the disco lines and the front ds is still locked. i have to drive like this @ freeway speeds to unlock the case. it pops into 2wd after a minute or so at high speeds.any thought are appreciated. 91 4.0 aw-4 231

also on the new tailshaft where do the vac lines go. can someone match the #s and colors for me please. i think they got mixed when it was installed

depending on what year 231 you have to grind off the tail end of the guide rod for the shift forks. this is stated in the direcions if you look real close. I had the same problem!

Take it back to whoever installed the SYE and have them fix it.

we did grind the rod to 1 inch i think it was. there is no problem going into 4wd it is just when i disengage it. it takes a minute at high speed to pop into 2wd.
