Getting my 4.0 torn down and need to start shopping for parts and machine work. There are quite a few shops in town that can do the machining but I've never had any done here so I'd like to get some input.

Who have you used and who should I stay away from?

Geddes Machine-Haven't used them but they have a good reputation,have heard nothing but good things about them, and they have been around for a long time. One that I have used is Burt's Auto Machine- no complaints for the work I had done.

I'd have to second Burt's Auto. I haven't had any machine work done by them, but when I needed some threads fixed in tierod, he just pulled out his tap set and fixed it for no charge. No one else in town had that particular tap, and it would have cost $40 to buy it. It also the kind of place where you can look at the parts catalog with the counter person and figure out what you need. If you are a smoker, you'll love the place.
