Stroker no Start, Need help ASAP

GUys, I'm in the shop now, and just tried to turn my stroker on for the 1st time. It will not start. I get a very good crank, and some pops and slight smoke out of the exhaust. Also the ait filter makes an occasional wiiissssshhhhh noise. I check all the normal stuff like connections ETC. Any ideas PLEASE>

distributor indexed?

I understand it's easy to have it 180 degrees opposite from the correct spot...

Maybe it is wrong?

OK, I had 2 and 4 swapped, so I corrected that, it still will not start, but the popping and wiiissshhhing is gone now. Does this help diag?

OK, my disti was 180 deg off, fixed that, same deal, just cranks, nothing else.

Try a search in the OEM forums for "distributor indexing"...

I know it's a stroker, but the indexing still applies...

are you getting fuel and spark, im assuming youve got compression, the only thing left is timing.....
