renix system head and block computer etc.
4.2 crank
4.2 rods
3243hc pistons
moly rings
comp cam 68-232-4
projected cr 9.6
.060 over
pistons 0 decked

what other components "MUST" this motor have to run smoothly
injectors?
fuel pressure reg?
etc.

-thanks

with the renix head/intake manifold, don't expect a lot of high end power... build it for torque. If you want more top end (and low end as well) swap a HO head, and 98+ intake manifold onto it. You can keep the renix computer with it, there's ways.

Not if he wants to drive it on the street. ;)

He's gotta have a functioning EGR to pass emissions inspection.

24 pound cobra injectors
mopar performance valve springs, keepers, retainers (MUST!)
bored throttle body
better exhaust

Fitting the egr to a new intake can't be impossible.

Not impossible, it just means cutting a renix intake up, finding a professional to do a very good job tig welding the port components to the 99+ manifold, and hoping a smog inspector doesnt notice the weld and fail you for non CARB (california air resource board) approved modified intake.

i am using performance springs

it does not have to pass smog

I will ask again what is a " MUST " to make it run?

it does'nt have to have a ho head to run I know this

is it a must to have bigger injectors?

will it damage the motor if i ran 19# injectors?

It will run too lean. You *have* to give it more fuel.

what springs are you running? performance is less of a concern, they need to be able to compress further as the cam lifts higher.

The engine will run just fine with Ford 24lb injectors and the stock fuel pressure regulator. The 19lb'ers won't be big enough.
Since you don't have to pass smog, you can do the following optional upgrades for more performance:

1. '91-'99 HO head.
2. '00+ XJ or TJ intake manifold.
3. '91-'06 HO throttle body (adapt your Renix TPS to fit).
4. Ditch the EGR stuff.
5. '00+ XJ or TJ exhaust manifold and downpipe.

Isn't the 00+ exhaust too small for the 91-99' heads(bigger ports)? And who wants all those precats? I recommend you get those 3243hcs(read about 3241hcs which have a 14.1cc dish) silvolites dished to at least 20cc.

The 00-01 exhaust header doesn't line up well with the earlier head. I've heard you can grind then taller to accommodate the earlier port, but I would be concerned about how little bit of material would be left at the bottom for sealing.

As for the precats some 00-01s didn't have the precats on the down pipe.

comp cams parts
cam & lifter kit #68-232-4
springs #926-12 with
retainers #744-22 and
locks#603-12

I called keith black and got the piston cc dish specs on the following

yes they are different than dino's stroker site
but are specs from the manufacture

c = teflon coated skirts
hc = hypereutectic.....for the extra strength earned the extra $ is well worth it
both of thes are suffixs that could be added to most of the kb silvolite pistons

2228.............................11.5 cc
2229.............................11.0 cc
3238/3241/3242/3243......13.7 cc

mabe dino's strokers page may have gotton the numbers from physically checking the cc's of the piston dish where as the manufacture told me they got the #s by checking the solid works plans....

hope this info helps some of you guys using those calculators that I used

Good point about the exhaust manifold. In that case, go for an aftermarket header that'll fit a '91-'99 model.

Good info. Thanks. I'll use it to update my site.

INJECTORS
I bought a reman set of six injectors about 1-2 years ago from a place in florida I think, they were $100 shipped I got the link off this forum but now I can't find it or remember the company.....does anyone have a souce injectors at a great price.....

turns out the springs, retainers, and locks are for 3/8 valve stem and I need a them for 5/16 so the parts are going back

comp recommends a performance spring what have you guys used?

Mopar performance P5249464 springs.

Google that part number to find the appropriate keeper/retainer part numbers.
