Strange Tech question?

Ok, got a slightly "off the beaten path" question for those folks with more than one vehicle in their "stables" - how do you deal with insect intrusion?

My '92 isn't a DD these days, so it sits a lot of the time (try to get it out on weekends). About a week ago, I loaned it to my mother while her car was having electrical problems.

I went out to move it that night when I got home, and when I opened the driver's door, a spider climbed over the gasket and disappeared into the cabin.

Since then, I've been seeing cobwebs popping up inside the vehicle. I had hoped that the little bugger would eventually make his way out through the vents due to the lack of spider-compatible edibles in the cabin, but have been disappointed so far.

Does anyone here have a "tried and true" method for discouraging spiders and the like from taking up semi-permanent residence within occasionally-used cars? I thought about mothballs, have concerns about the smell.

Thoughts?

I like to use flystrips (no joke!). I unwind one, cut it in a few pieces and stick it to a few pieces of 4x6 plexiglass. One on the dash or rear ledge and one on both rows of seats. There are always a few bugs on each one. Flys, spiders, wasps/hornets, etc. I would also recommend a pack of Decon. Those furry seat shredding buttheads are always a wonderful suprise when you are driving.
I even have solutions for raccoons. Not as easy though.
Hope this helps to have a pest free drive.

I bug bombed the inside of my wrangler when A nest of wolf spiders decided to live in there. pretty creepy gettin in half wake in the morning and there were like 10 crawling on the winshield.
