STOLEN BOGGERS

That's right.... Someone stole my tires and rims. I dropped my wheeler off at a friends shop before I left for my 28 day work hitch. He was installing control arm drops, adj control arms, and lifting it from 4.5 to 6.5. This past Saturday night someone came and stole the tires and rims and left it on patio pavers. Tires where 33" 12.50 Super Swamper Boggers, 2 of them where brand new and 2 were about 50% worn, they where on black american racing wagon wheels. Any info would be great.... Thank god they left all the new parts sitting in the back lol Idiots

I know its your friend's shop and all, but if the tires were stolen while the Jeep was in their care .... they are completely responsible and owe you new tires and rims. It shouldn't even be a question.

I know, actually I just left there. He knows I was talking about going to 35's and he's been looking for a used set to buy me. The thing is for what that jeep is used for I would want nothing else but boggers. I think I'm just going to buy a brand new set of 35's and he's going to put money towards them. I really don't feel like waiting however many months it will take to find a decent pair of used 35's, and I don't want to take the chance of getting tires that have less tread then what I had

i hate to say it but a) that sucks and b) unfortuantlety your friend is responsible for the theft... hopefully you guys can work it out but keep an eye out on craigslist and such... maybe he can help ya out with a new set of rims and tires... i hope this doesnt come between you at all... even if his shop was well secured it stinks and i hate it

So hows about my buddy (So called) told me he would give me money towards new tires for my jeep yesterday. I asked him how much and he said 300 or 400... I said I would be happy with 400 and left. Today PAjeepman was kind enough to post that link for the used 35's. So I called my buddy who owns the shop and he said he didn't have the money right now, so I stopped by there to talk to him. He doesn't even know when he'll have the money to give me, and he seems to think 300 dollars is fair for these tires and rims that where stolen. 2 of these tires where damn near brand new and I just paid 300 bucks for them a couple months ago, I mean I prolly only wheeled them 3 or 4 times. Not to mention the other 2 tires that where about 50% worn, then the rims. Needless to say I'm mad as hell, he has a fence that gets locked up every night but didn't have my jeep behind it, he was supposed to have my jeep done by yesterday when I got home.... if he would have been working on my jeep like he was supposed to and like he told me he would, maybe it would have been behind the locked fence and I would have tires and rims on it. Then he had the balls to tell me he didn't even need to replace or give me anything towards them.

Well I said the hell with it, I'm going to buy those used 35's tomorrow that pajeepman posted for me.... then first thing Monday morning I'll be at the court house. There is no way I'm just going to be beat for damn near 1000 dollars worth of tires and rims

That sucks :( good luck with everything dude, hope it all works out

What was the name of the shop owner? A first name would be enough if you don't wanna put him on blast.

His name is John... as mad as I am about the whole situation I'd rather not say the name off the shop. But the name of the shop is Johns last name lol. Anyway I just got home from buying those 35" boggers, ,man those things are in really good shape. Kinda nice because I did want to go to 35's on ol'betsey... however that still opens another can of worms since I know I will need to gear my rears for the XJ to even move those things lol. Those damn 33's took tons of pep out of that old renix, I'd hate to see what these 35's do to her.... not to mention I know I'm pushing it running 35" boggers on stock rears. I do have a brand new set of 4.88's for the d30, all I need is a master rebuilt kit. I also just got done putting a 8.25 in the rear, so now I'll need to get 4.88's and a rebuild kit for that also. This whole deal really sucks since my XJ was supposed to be done for me when I got home. I dropped off 6" front springs, adj upper and lower arms, control arm drop brackets, drop pitman arm, and stainless steel brake lines all before I left. He installed the 6" full leafs when he put the 8.25 in.... The thing would have been 100% ready to wheel. Now that work isn't done yet and I had to put out this money for new tires, next rims, then gears. Yes it will be nice when it's done, however I just got done buying a 2001 for a DD..... This is cutting into my lift and tire funds for the new one lol.

is this an actual shop with insurance and employees and a tax id number? if not i hate to say it but your pretty SOL. if its a backyard shop or your buddys house you dont really have a leg to stand on for it being his fault.

well it's a actual shop, he has one employee but I'm sure he gets paid off the books.... I'm pretty sure he has a tax id. I know one year he got screwed because he has a comercial account at a auto parts store, all his buddys where buying shit on it and he got all pissed because the way that account was set up it wasn't charging tax... then at the end of the year he had to pay tax on all those parts, even what his friends bought and he didn't make money off. He did call the cops, and there was a report made, he actually told the cops they where worth 1500 bucks

Figures after I go and spend 1000 bucks on new/used boggers and brand new rims, my so called buddy sends me a pick of tires and rims on my truck. I haven't even had a chance to stop by there and look at them, but from the pic the look like 35's but there not boggers like I really want to run. Guess I'll be selling whatever he put on, then running the boggers and rims I bought

Man that sucks.. Doe's his shop have a sign up that says "Not responsible for stolen or damaged items"?
I have that sign up but also a fence lined with razor wire around the entire property.

if the jeep wasn't behind the fence, you're not due anything. Even if it was, he still doesn't have to pay u anything. I'm on your side here, dude. I completely understand the frustration. Went through this myself. Now, unless I'm picking up my shit later that night, I request my vehicles be kept inside anytime they are at a shop for more than 1 day.

I wouldn't give "Hopper John" one cent of my money, if thats who your talking about I can't believe the crap he's poulled off over the past 25-20 years. Go to Scott Hunter in Hainesport, it's closer an his work is top notch. or M&M in Sicklerville.

lol not sure if Hopper John is the same person. He's only around my age 30 or so.... I've heard of a Scott from hainesport tho. He's like a huge jeep guy right?? I am looking for someone else in the area to work on my stuff..... someone a little more jeep and lifting oriented. Where are you from Mudboy? With that zip I know your close

I grew up in Atco, lived in Chesilhurst for a little while then Hammonton and now Bellmawr. By all means go to Scott He's been lifting trucks, building transmissions, setting up diffs, custom fabworksince the 70s and even built his sons 800 hp 496 in his garage. You can garuntee quality work from him and good pricing. If you PM me I'll give ya his address, stop by and talk to him, he'll talk to you for hours. Yes he's got a few jeeps, from his smallest on 35s to his largest on 40s
