Stock rear shocks.

Does anyone locally have thier old set of stock rear shocks. I am getting my shock mounts moved from down low to just above the top of the tube. This is about 5-6". Since my new lift is about 5 1/2, I think the old stocker shocks should work. And yes, you heard it right, the Broken has a new RockCrawler 4 1/2 lift :). $350 for front and rear springs.

i have some doetch tech shocks from a RE budget boost that i will be taking off in the next few weeks... not off yet sorry.. but they will be for sale when i pull them off if you dont find any before then...

You probably thought about this already, but keep in mind the longer you keep the shocks, the more suspension travel you'll have. If you just move them up to level with the bottom of the tube, thats fine, and you can run a shock that is 2-4" longer than if you had moved the mount to the top of the tube. Food for thought, I went through this same scenario two years ago and moved my mounts to be level with the bottom of the tube.

Andy, thanks for the info. I am actually setting up the rear-end for the next "BrokenXJ", which will be higher and have one of those rear shock re-location bar thingys. Currently I do want to limit my downward travel, because I still run a slip yoke and I don't want to bind up. I currently still run a dropped stock rear swaybar, to limit my rear travel because of the slip yoke. I need to do some testing to see if I can get rid of the swaybar with this new setup, maybe use a limiting strap on the center section.

go w/ the rear limiting strap.

since yours is a 5-speed, you do have a longer rear shaft than most (even makes up for the extra length of the 8.8's pinion.

grab a YJ yoke and let that mofo flex!!!
