Stock axles

This has probably been answered before but i can't find it and I'm fairly new to customizing and lifting jeeps. Where can I find on the vehicle the axle size? Also, does anyone know the stock rear axle size on a 91, 4.0?

most likely a D35. You can tell by looking at the diff covers. Do some searches and you will find some links to pics to guide ya.

Well all, I found the answer. I have the 8.25 rear axle, not a d35. If anyone else out there needs to figure out the difference the 8.25 has two little lips at the bottom left and right of the diff.
