Stering Wheel Jerks when I turn

Just a couple of days ago I noticed that my stering wheel jerks when I am turning. It doesn't matter if it's a sharp turn or a wide turn. I checked my lug nuts and they are all good, but I don't know what else it would be. Does anyone have any ideas?

Among other things, loose/worn tie rod ends. Is it worse turning one direction or the other?

Are you sure it's in 2 wheel drive? LOL

Check the condition of your front axle shaft u-joints. They may look normal, but if they've gotten dry and seized up, they'll bind and cause that jerking when making tight turns. I'm putting my money on a seized up u-joint.

Put the front axle up on jack stands with the XJ in 2wd. Turn the steering wheel hard one way - then go try to turn the front wheels by hand - you should feel it bind up. Turn 'em the other way if you don't feel it the first direction.

It doesn't make a difference which way I turn, it does the same thing. I though it might be the T-case so I cycled through a couple of times and it seems like when it's in 2wd it jumps back and forth between 2wd and 4 part time (I have the selec-trac t-case), but when it 4 full time it doesn't jerk...
