I received a wiring harness with the deck I purchased. When I hooked it up like the directions said, the deck would stay on with the ignition off and the key out of the ignition. Then I switched the ignition and power wire and it would shut off with the ignition. Okay, problem solve. Well, somewhat solved. I can set my radio stations, audio settings and the will keep as I set them when I turn the ignition off. But when I set the clock or have a cd playing (say on track 5) and shut it off and turn it on 5 min. later, it resets the clock to 12:00 and the cd will restart to track one. I am thinking of bypassing the wiring harness and wire it some other way. My question is.....where are some good wire to tap into as far as ingtion(switched) and power(constant) wires are concerned?

Thanks!

If you check around on your fuze block (under the dash,) you should be able to find a couple of each - tap them with a .250 spade lug.

Since I probably run quite a bit more auxiliary electrical stuff than you do, I've pulled a "keyed" power line into the cabin. I tapped directly from the battery into a relay, and the relay is triggered by the "keyed" power from the fuze block - which is then distributed through an auxiliary block down by my right knee.

The "keep alive" lead is low-current - you should be able to take that directly off the fuze block, once you find an "always on."

What year? I can check FSM if I have one close...
