Spring Creek 12 or 13?

Hammer,

I talked to my buddy, and he isn't sure he has any yokes layin' around. He also didn't know if there was any difference between the D35 and the D35C.

I called Jeeps Unlimited in Erie, a guy there thought the only difference might be the size of the u-joint used. He said either yoke will fit on the pinion.

Dunno if that helps, but I hope you get yer junk fixed! You might try Pull-N-Save (33rd and Peoria) as a last resort Friday or first thing Saturday.

BJ's Jeep parts (11th and Sheridan) usually has plenty of yokes but he's pricey.

Lemme know if there's anything else I can do.

Fixed it.

Carbide drill bit + some patience = running jeep

See you all on sat. Where do you want to meet? If you want to do the lunch thing and wait for john john, I’m going to suggest the buff rose, nice patio and cheep food, but I’m open.

If you don't want to do lunch then i say the peradactal lot off i-70. say 2:00?

You guys give me a cell phone to call when I hit Floyd Hill and I can meet you at the trail head.

"You all"????

Sounds like it's just gonna be you (Hammer), me and JohnJohn.

I imagine Terry will still be scoopin' sand - unless the rains make it heavy enough that he says "The heck with it" and joins us.

I'm in for the meet at the RTD lot at 2pm. Gives me some sleep in time and take care of a few chores.

PM'd my cell # to you both.

Troy

so on the slim chance i can join you, you're meeting where at 2pm? at the park n ride on the
northeast side of I-70 and morrison?

(not far from where officer yellaheep pulled me over the other night) ;)

Yeah, we'll be thinkin' of ya when it's raining sideways and we're trying to get up the rock pile........ :laugh3:

Seems like you guys settled on tomorrow. I'm interested in doing this run (or any other in the area), but can only go Sunday. Just wanted to see if there was anybody else wanting to go Sunday.

Well, Spring Creek was a blast! That's a decent "moderate" trail with just enough going on to keep it interesting.

We hit the first obstacle - the off camber large rock platform at about 3pm. JohnJohn gave it a heck of a try, but ended up caving in his right rear quarter and winched up. I took the line JohnJohn said was the "hard" way and motored right up...... ProComps rule! :laugh3: Jeff gave it his best, but being open was his handicap - took a winch.

Had decent weather right up until we got to the Rock Pile then the heavens opened up for about 10 minutes - rendering the area very wet and muddy. The group from "TrailDamage.com" was bashing away at the hard line for about 45 minutes - tearing up the place, teetering on their belly-skids and bending alot of sheet metal. Matter of fact, it got it's rainiest right as JohnJohn was trying the biggest obstacle. Friggin' slippery stuff. Oh, JohnJohn took a winch there too..... kept complaining "This thing feels tippy!" :laugh3: The rain made it too slippery for me, so I motored up the moderate line. Did I mention that ProComps rule?

Jeff brought along his "girl......friend" Terri (sp?) and we learned that he used to be quite an "ass" back in the day..... He claimed that there was an X-rated story about how he and Terri met, but he cheezed out on us and left us guessing.... However, he was musically entertaining for the entire trail. Ask him about "More Cowbell".

JohnJohn learned that B.O.R. springs require tight shackle bolts, and Jeff and I learned that he REALLY likes his large pipe wrench....... eeewwww. Oh, and supposedly, there's a "Fat Bastard" pic that Led has that JohnJohn desperately wants posted again.

........thought briefly about stealing the "fictitious" LUVMYJP plate replacement, but didn't wanna see a grown man whine. :laugh3:

Great afternoon of 'wheeling!

Nice report except you forgot to mention the fact that you both XXXXXXd out during the rain storm. I only stopped trying because you guys were the ones getting wet. :D I want to also mention the fact they Troy and walked right through the rocks before that...which the TrailDamage folks were killing themselves on. XJs rock!

Here are some pic of that obsticale in 2002. Quite a bit different now..huh?

Just looking at those I can't believe how bad it was this time. Today my 35"BFG was actually under the rock. Hammer, an pics of that?...taking the cable almost didn't work.

I had a great time. Troy, Jeff, I got your dudes back anytime.

PS: Jeff...I told you I should gone right at the "v" notch...

hey we don't want to see pix from 3 years ago... we wanna see pix from today!
:D

You ain't kiddin' JJ. That pic makes it look pretty tame. Thank god for Formatt tail light housings huh?

Oh yeah, Jeff also learned that he needs to pay closer attention to the Colorado Chapter bylaws....... He seemed pretty shocked to learn that it's a requirement of the Chapter newbie attending a run, to wash and detail the rig belonging to the attendee with the most NAXJA seniority, and the rig of the highest ranking attending Chapter Official.

Led, back us up on this!!!!!

......We'll leave the soap and hose out for ya Jeff, call when you're on your way! :D :D

LOL - I knew JJ was into modifying his XJ's, but modifying it DURING a trail run? That's dedication!

(Anyone else notice the X-Terrains / MTR change and the swap of TJ flares for Bushwackers? :laugh3: )
