instant oatmeal works great on earwigs. blows their stomachs up. As for spiders a can of raid does wonders..

You sprinkle it at the door jams and around the foundation out side....
We used it for years. If your not sure about it there is a product (hard to find out here) called "seven dust". It keeps just about everything out.

They sell cans of bug bomb. I usually "despider" the house when they get bad in the spring and I end up with bites. Seal the house, set off 2-3 can and leave for the day and ventilate like crazy.
Earwigs, well I don't know, just clean alot. They hate clean. They hate sun. You usually find them under something damp or shaded. Oatmeal...hmmm.
Now if there was a way to get rid of all these box elder bugs! I used to use Mothers Oil soap on them with a spray bottle, then I got lazy. I suspect they make a trap of some flavor.
