Hey Guys And Gals,

I have a '92 Xj That is showing some signs of age. I knew there was rust but did not expect this much. Let me know what you think...and what my plan of attack should be...

Thanks For Lookin,

Trim the fenders, boatside it, then wheel it till it folds like a taco.

Cut out the rest of the rails and bolt in some 3x3 tubing for some home brew rock rails

Turn the bad about it into the sweet trail jeep its always wanted to be

X2 for the trim and built in rock-rail idea. I've seen it done.
It works pretty slick, and you don't have to be a body shop major to finish it as expandable foam is formable when it dries.

PROCESS IS SLOW BUT SURE:

Thanks For Lookin.

Just Wanted To Update Everyone On Our Progress.

Special Thanks To: WNARACE, 94xj6.5, And chpmnsws6

Without you guys I would not know where to begin.

nice work, I wouldnt have spent the time on it!, you have a better wheeling experience when you dont worry about trail damage, but thats just me. happy jeepin

Now at least it won't rott away for another few years and will look decent in the mean time. Before, It was gonna be a driveway full of rust and a frame in the next year

Sweet baby seat! Glad mine doesn't have that option :o

looking good man, and as far as the child seat, Winterfest 09 was the first time in months that I did not rock with the car seat :D My boy digs wheelin'!!

Chpmnsws6...yours will have the Aftermarket Car Seat Option before long...That's why you bought the 4 Door wasn't it?

BcMaxx...I am not that worried about the trail damage, I just wanted to stop the rust. I got a buddy that does body work on the side and he is kinda teachin me some stuff along the way.

About the paint...

The base color matches pretty good, I am happy with it, but its a little more yellow than the original color. the base went on great only a couple small and I mean small runs...but I bought the clear coat from DupliColor and it is waaaay thin and it was sprayed in very very light coats but it still ran. so there is work to be done yet to make it look good, but its a trail jeep.

Plus I still gotta get everyone over to help install my Rock Sliders.

Then we can Herculiner it.

THEN IT WILL BE DONE.... :eeks1: :rof::yelclap:  :party::party::party::party:
