Met the coolest guys today: Ali ERİÇ and his son Alican.
As you all know I'm just nuts over trucks and four wheel drive vehicles.
Pulled in to my local grocery store for some what-not and spotted this kick ass honest-to-God Camel trophy type Range Rover diesel.
Much to my luck they were in the truck and had some time to show me how they put it together, the safety, communications and creature comforts they have for their round the world trip.
They have completed Lap 1 Asia
Turkey
Georgia
Azerbaijan
Kazakhstan
Russia
Mongolia
Russia
Overall: 16900 km.
Time: 5,5 Month
And now are on Lap 2 North America
Alaska (USA)
Canada
U.S.A.
Mexico
Guatemala
El Salvador
Nicaragua
Costa Rica
Panama
Overall: 19700 km.
Time: 3 Month
Where I met them in little old Idaho.
Asked him if they've had any issues with global and national border crossing - he said they were so far no real "issues" other than a few insurance policy type things but no real problems.
Mechanically they are in good shape and appear to be really enjoying life.
They were really awesome guys to talk with.

He also told me about his first big ride called Turkafrika Turkey to the tip of South Africa and back - that web site is:

Wished him Alayhis salaam (Muslim version of God speed and may he watch over you) and he really was taken back from someone here who knew some of his religion.
(He did say I was correct in my use too (I asked))
- Got a big hand shake for that and a huge smile.
With that he fired up the diesel and took off heading south to Panama.
