Something needs to be done!

I know I am and probably many others are tired of seeing the same old threads come up "what type of tire", "what gear ratio", "coolling problem" etc. My suggestion is put a permanent sticky on every section explaining the purpose of a SEACH button. OR my favorite have a window come up when you click new thread saying "did you search this topic ... ". Seriously something needs to be done if people would take 5 minutes to do a search would have half the number of doubled threads from people being to lazy to do a search. This isnt anything against , Im just tired of signing on seeing 15 new threads identicle to the ones from a week ago. is an awesome site an I for one appreciate all the help Its provided. But this is one thing that annoys me!

LOL you think it doesn't annoy ME? I've pretty much quit going to the Tech forums because of all the Jeep 060 posts. On the other hand, alot of the answers are subjective...then ya have to pick the poster's brain to determine how & where they wheel (if they even do wheel) and what compromises they are willing to make for doing the mod in question.

We could expand our Tech articles to include a Tech FAQ section with 'basic' info...but it would be redundant. SO much of that info has been covered over and over (and over) but it's somewhat rude to just reply with "do a search." LOL then ya have to wonder if someone who can't calculate and predict the suitability of a gear ratio on their own could figure out how to engage the search function, and then retain the knowledge long enough to use it? :dunno:
