Still no luck finding a 2.5? I picked up a 86 XJ Limited (woody) with 2.5 5 speed talk about ugly. Motor is going into 86 MJ. This is one jeep I won't feel bad about parting out. The interior looks like a pumpkin exloded inside. It would make a good open top project. 4.11 gears throw V8 in it.:spin1: Don't tell my wife.

that has to be the worst 2.5 I-6 in the world and it's not even a deisel.

what about the YJs with the 4 banger around that year? same 4 banger or no for the XJ's? I would think that would work not sure of what all changes in the block really. Are you looking for a complete whole swap or just the block and head piston deal to do a quick rebuild and toss in job?

I don't know if you knew this but some Dakotas came with the 2.5 same motor as that year of Jeep. If you goto Car-Parts.com you can look at what some of the local junkyards have.
