Tim, some friends and I went for a last minute trip to Lee County Mud Motorsports Complex to watch Hill & Hole mud racing. Had a great time watching everything from stockers to fully modified nitro trucks get dirty.

4.7L Stroker running on a Megasquirt making over 300hp. This guy might not look it at first, but he knows his stuff when it comes to tuning. Consistently 1st or 2nd in his class. we made quick friends with him and he agreed to attaching my GoPro HD helmet cam for his second run. On that run he ended up being the only rig of his class to make it out of the pit yesterday....

I'm still waiting on the video to load. It was shot in 1080p, but I can't edit in that right now until I get new software, and it's just waaaay too slow to load it in 1080p to youtube until I figure out a better way.

Just saw these on your FB. where is this hole?

Lee County outside of Sanford NC. Use to be an outlaw 1/8 mile dragstrip that they pulled up the concrete and built the mud tracks.

Holy cow at the wheel spin!!!!!!

That is amazing!!

Think my 30 would handle that?:roflmao:

The orange cherokee that ran my GoPro has used his stock 30/35 the whole time! I don't know how that welded d35 has held up this long.

Don't have too many pictures that Nick hasn't already covered, but:

Can you spot the truck?

Set up on the XJ: Hesco (if i'm not mistaken) cylinder head, 99+ intake, dual XJ electric fans, MSD Ignition (that actually worked properly!):

And of course, you are in Lee County, so you do see all sorts of stuff....like tennis balls stuffed inside the coil springs! This was on a early 90's model F150 I-6 that was named "The Great Pumpkin"

This is the video of the run the guy in the XJ did with Nick's GoPro. We were fortunate to get great quality videos from both inside and outside view points. The sound gets a little muffled at the end of mine because I accidentally covered up the mic (still learning this new camera). That would be me yelling at the very end and Nick who's obviously quite happy for the guy, as we all were. Might want to give photobucket a few seconds to finish loading before you watch the movie...was a bit choppy on my PC until Photobucket got it's act together:

Awesome vid guys...cant wait to see the helmet cam video. I hope that turned out ok. You can look for for me to be on here periodically...I am the driver of the orange xj. Maybe it wont take much for ya'll to get used to my crazy ideas, that, dispite all odds, just seem to work...lol.

Glad to see you made it over here! BIG thanks once again for letting us strap a camera to ya lol. I just took a look through your youtube videos, I have some pictures of the green XJ from over two years ago when I was out there. Definitely an awesome Jeep! The Jeep cam is loading (hopefully). High Def video that's three and a half minutes long is a bit difficult to upload to the internet lol.

Another video I took from yesterday, just to put a perspective on how fast they can go...and this wasn't anywhere close to being the fastest! You'll hear the commentary at the end as we all got plastered in mud..and I forgot the camera was still running lol.

Any spectator who leaves this place as clean as they came obviously didn't see any of the racing. You're guaranteed to get muddy. Hell, even your vehicles get hit with flying mud from the track!

Good to see you got on here! The video turned out great, it finally loaded in full 1080p!

Thanks for welcoming me, guys. I'll try and post some pics of the new truck for 2011....it's a cross between a liberty and comanchee(liberty front and comanchee bedsides)...with the engine in the back...gonna be a wild ride, I think. As always gonna have an awsome 4.0 in it.

I see a NAXJA invasion of Lee County in the future!!!

I'm already planning on next month. Megan pinky-swore tonight she would come this time, and she "never breaks a pinky promise". I'll be waiting :).
