Some opinions on my new bumper..

Just picked this up a few weeks ago. It's the Rusty's prerunner bumper. I couldn't find any comments on the bumper from anyone, and the pictures I have seen, I didn't find it too attractive. After installation, it's starting to grow on me. Plus it's a winch bumper which will be installed soon. Got it for $120 from a guy selling his XJ, the thing is in mint condition, the powdercoat is brand new and looks great. Said he only had it on the Jeep for a month or so. So a $500 bumper I couldn't pass up for the price I paid. Sorry the pictures are dark...

Mine should be one here somewhere, got mine cheap too, and no complaints. A lot people don't care for them cause of how the stinger is positioned, but as you mentioned too, it seems to grow on ya.

Looks good

Thats a nice looking bumper but i don't like how the lights are mounted personally

It makes your XJ look like a 10 year old boy wearing his mom's 36DD bra......

The bumper looks like a bolt-on pre-runner lightbar for a SuperDuty. Sits about 4" too low, lacks fender corner protection and leaves the front crossmember exposed.

I kept part of the front air dam on mine. I just kept the part between the front tow hooks to hide stuff. The bumper does what I need it to do, so I like it. For the record... I have yet to be on the trail and have my front bumper hang me up because it sticks out too far or it is too low.

How are those lights mounted? Tabs, brackets, drilled and tapped the stinger? I'm looking to mount some lights on my TNT and was wondering if mounting them on an angled piece of tubing works out well or not.

Just weld on a couple pre-drilled tabs of 1/8-3/16" metal wherever you want your lights.

not a big fan of the light placement either but I think the bumper looks good, function before fashion

I have a hard time believing anyone couldnt find comments on rusty's gear.. you didn't search much. :)

Oh yeah, moving this to the picture forum. :)

yea that pic is not much better.

I like the way it looks, even the lights. its alittle over the top but that gives your rig character.

get a front skid and I think it will give it a good look.

Guess my question was more about mounting lights at an angle than it was about how to mount them. My bumper is already finish painted and I don't have welding abilities so... I was looking at either drilling and tapping or using bolt-on mounting brackets on the sides of the stinger. Just trying to figure out if mounting the lights at an angle screws up the beam pattern or not?
