So today I was replacing a Head Gasket......and found CP pistons!

That whole engine is going to explode.... you can send it to me and ill send you my super nice re-man engine. :D

Lame! That socks man.

I have +.030" sealed power h825cp30s in my 4.6. H=hyperteutectic, CP=coated skirts. The non-coated Sealed Powers were the 677p. Even though it's over-bored .020", the pin height on the SPs are .010" lower, and the dish is bigger than the stock piston, so no compression increase.
edit: If head wasn't shaved, nor block decked, yours went from 8.8:1 down to 8.5:1.

CP means coated skirts--did you have the piston out to verify that the skirts weren't coated or were you expecting the tops to be coated?

I just pulled the head on that engine to port it, and replace the head gasket. While cleaning off the tops of the pistons I noticed they had a stamp. That's all I did. If it says CP then I'm sure they have coated skirts. The XJ It came out of I bought for $500. I made about 750 off it plus kept the engine, trans and tcase combo. So far I have no regrets on parting that XJ out. lol.

Those are the best deals. Grab it, take what you need, flip it and make loads of bread.

I'm still tempted to carmax my $750 xj lol. I'd probably get around $3000 for it.
