snowstorm #3

CAn you weather guys explain to me why so many snow storms are hitting the more southern areas that usually don't see as much snow? I'm here in northern new jersey, I;m 28 years old and have never seen in my life southern jersey, Delaware, Maryland, northern va region get hit with tons more snow in a season then northern jersey, northeast pa, southern ny area. They are calling for only as little as 3 to as much as 14 for my area, but 20 to 30 inches in the more southern areas that i mentioned again same as last few storms.

Just curious.

El Nino....we usually get a "wet" winter on El Nino winters, and this year the temps have actually been colder than normal..thus resulting in more snow than normal. We usually get ice.

I don't know how much we have had but its still snowing. I shoveled the driveway 4 times today and I still can't see pavement. I plan on doing some snow wheeling tomorrow after i do some welding on my axle.

Have you thought about buying a small torch end to fit a propane tank?

I can shovel the driveway to the pavement, but by the time i get to the end of the driveway its already covered again:smsoap:

Its really snowing hard this morning again, I think we have about 15" of snow.

its raining like a blizzard here in cleveland i dont know if my house is under snow completely yet but when i looked out my window at work just a sec ago all i saw was gravel parking lot, thought i was snowed in ... man crazy weather we are having...

i saw on Yahoo they said 2.5 feet of snow in Maryland/DC area. My brother lives there. They re asking people with 4x4s to help get doctors to hospitals.

I saw them relaying this message on Fox News a little while ago. What an awesome excuse to go play in the snow!

I went out and played in the trail rig but left my phone(on purpose) and forgot the camera.

Here are some pics from this am and this afternoon, look at my snow piles on each side of the driveway.

Our local club has been out since yesterday afternoon running med staff in and out of one of the local hospitals. I got back in around 1AM this morning, got some sleep, and went back out around 8. Just came in now for some dinner and a shower (and a nap.....), and will probably be back out again in a few hours for the evening shift. Yeehaw.

VDOT plowed our road a few minute ago, we threw snowballs at him for messing up our "block sledding party" tonight, we had hot chocolate and beer ready. I even went out got a new sled, a "Flexible Flyer", now there is no ice to sled on. Damn plow trucks:smsoap:

We have C.E.R.T. people around here for that now. Our hospitals won't let us help out unless we have our CERT certification. It takes 8 Saturdays to complete the course but you are fully insured while transporting med staff.

sheesh.....CERT training....we're just neighbors helping neighbors:cheers:

Here's a couple pics from this morning's runs
