I was just headed home a few minutes ago, Dan and myself have been helping stranded motorists seek shelter, getting their cars out for them, etc. Well, in all seriousness, about 90% of the local backroads are completely iced over! Man, its great t have 4 wheel drive! Anyway, I was following this little import car , and when we turned on to my road, we got out from behind a county truck that was going slower. Well, this guy in front of me started hauling ass. I had a very bad feeling b/c the entire road was, well, it was straight up ice. Sure enough, he got just out of my sights, about a minute later I go around this curve, and he is in the left ditch facing me!!! He was going way to fast, spun out in the curve and went into the ditch backwards at 50+ mph. It caved in the quarter panel of the car, which is probably due to the fact that the ditch was about 3 feet deep and he slid down that about 50 ft or more. After I made sure he was ok, he got a pretty good ass chewing from me about needing to slow his stupid ass down (I let him have it, he could've killed himself or someone else for that matter). I then hooked up the M8000, and tried my best to pull him out, but I was only able to pull him a few feet, even with the back tires off in the ditch on the opposite side of the road. I was freezing and its obviously late, so I told him sorry, wound up the winch, and left. I bet he slows it down next time!
