Small performance gains...

what's that filter from? What size is the opening and how does it attach?

It´s a Valuecraft VA7730 , afik Ford Mustang air filter
with a 3" opening: (Ford Motorcraft Air Filter FA-1616)

and the attach is with 3" pvc elbow and 3" air duct.

bought in Home depot and Autozone.

On an engine with 100k miles, the first thing I would do is run a can of BG44K through the fuel to clean the carbon and injectors. Don't even bother with the cheap cleaners they don't stack up. BG44K will run you around $20 a can. I run a can every 10K miles in all my vehicles.

For the bucks, this is probably your best bet.

BG44k used to be the best, but it has long since been surpassed by Chevron Techron and Redline SA-1, which have the highest PEA content on the market right now.

Everybody has their own opinion. BG44k has NEVER let me down.
