Slightly rough idle?

I’m experiencing a slightly rough idle on my 96’ XJ sport. My XJ has been running very strong since I put some fuel injector cleaner in about a week ago. This is only my fourth week with my new XJ so I don’t know if it’s just the way my truck runs or if it needs a tune up. Ok so this is what it’s doing. When my truck is at idle the engine sounds normal and stays at a normal temp but every three or four seconds the whole engine shudders slightly. Nothing violent or anything but it’s defiantly noticeable. All of the spark plugs look fine and every thing ells too. The only thing’s that look’s kinda crappie are the rotor and distributor cap. Could these cause the problem?

I would try the cap & rotor. Cheap & easy. Either get the ones from the dealer or get the good ones from Napa. HTH. JIM.

might need to clean the throttle body.

try turning off the a/c if its on. my xj idles really funky when the a/c compressor goes on..every trhee to four seconds. just a guess, but something to consider. .02
