shock recommendations?

lookin for input on shocks. looking for something that can handle fire roads at speed, but not quite all-out Baja racing. the vehicle is a comanche shortbed on 37's. i've heard good things about bilsteins, but looking for more specifics. cheap ($) is ideal, as long as the quality isnt cheap as well. thanks

Look into the Rock Krawler 2-5/8" ext resi shocks. They are a bit less then the others, with a huge shaft and I have nothing but good experience with them at speeds in very hard abuse.

this subforum and cheap shocks usually dont go together. search for bilstein 7100s, they run close to 200 each.

Those I can get you for $350ea. They are alot more shock then a 7100! The shaft alone is double the diameter, the body is all alum, its a 2-5/8" shock not 2", and the list can go on and on.

Bilstein are very nice shocks though! Some people do just fine on 7100's or even 5160's now.

yea thats about what im expecting to pay. coilovers would be nice, but thatll be the next stage once i link the rear.
