Shackles

Does anyone have a set of stock shackles they dont need? I am in Oceanside, and would be able to pick up this week. I have some things to possibly trade?

Doh! You should've grabbed those with the springs. I think I tossed them, I can check.

I found them, they're located at the Sycamore landfill. Looks like I did toss them. There's an Ecology on Highway 76 just east of I5, go over there and pull some, and look for axles that look different than yours while you're there. Also, one hint if you buy an axle, they always came out of a car when they ask what it's out of, cheaper that way.

I think they'll charge like $8/pop. Go there after thanksgiving and I think everything is half off. There's crap for XJ stuff in the Otay yards right now, but I did score a 231 shift plate, looks so plain next to the 242 one. You must've gotten an inch or more out of those springs, I never had vibration problems on mine. I've got a crossmember here that I didn't use that will drop the trans maybe a half inch over the stock auto cross member. I didn't use that or the tranny drop kit, your welcome to both.

I went to Ecology and got some off an old pioneer for $10. I think I ended up with more than an extra inch, I was at around 3.5" of lift. I just took off my extended shackles and got rid of my TC drop because I dont like having it on. No more vibes!! I also put on the springs i got from you to take away an inch or so in the front for my ride back to NE until I get an SYE and driveshaft. Thanks for the advise and help Mark.
