San Juan's and South Colony Lake

Does anybody know if the OHV trail to South Colony Lakes in the San Juan was shortened? I want to go in and camp there in the next couple weeks and it would be nice to know how far the walk is now. The reason I ask is I found a forest service document indicating the enviromentalists closed the trail 2.5 miles from it's original ending and I can't find any recent trail reports to confirm/deny.

There was a whole story in the Colorado Springs Gazette about it. I think it was 2 or 3 Sundays ago.
