San Jose area clubs

I'm interested in joining a club in the San Jose area and am looking for some pointers. I'm pretty new to this and not looking for anything hard core but I would like to get out once a month or so and get the rig dirty (maybe put a few dents and scratches in it :D).

I've found a couple of clubs googling, but I was hoping there'd be some folks in the area who could chime in about clubs they belong to or know about and would recommend.

A few words about my baby to give you an idea of where I'm at:
'01 with 4.5" lift on 31's (I'll probably go to 32's after the holidays and maybe 33's once I get up the nerve to trim and have the money to regear...again :rolleyes:). I have armour, bumpers w/tow points and a no-slip in the back.

Don't suppose you ran across BA4WD? They meet at what used to be Happy Dayz, at Bascom & Union, on Wednesdays. I go from time to time...

I've got to get my rig in workin' order - get rid of this damn internal slave cylinder, and get that lift transplanted - so I can get out some...

A bunch of us do meet up every wednesday night to hang out, all are welcome to show up.

I was thinking of making one Wednesday a month at happy dayz a NAXJA night, any intrest? The parking lot is big so if a bunch of XJ's came and took over I don't think anyone would mind.

NAXJA is a Club right?
NAXJA has members in San Jose right?

You are in a Club in San Jose! ;) Are you going to Hollister on the 4th?

Well, true. Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone by implying otherwise. I guess what I was looking for was more along the lines of a group of folks who usually wheel in the area (ie. more day trippy kinda things) who wouldn't mind schelpping a newbie around with them until he figures what the hell he's doing :D. Given the Sierra chapter covers a fair amount of territory, I figured a locally based club would be more likely to do that. Does that make sense?

Makes a lot of sense! You did not offend me at all, I would like to see more group involvement with the Sierra Chapter and NAXJA. We have a GREAT GROUP of people here just seems like everyone here is posting about there local club, if you look at the SoCal Chapter they are way more into getting people involved. They go out of there way to put flyers on XJ's they see on the street.

So to make a move to getting people involved, I will start with sugesting a Meet and greet in the bay area:
NAXJA Meet and greet
First Wednesday of Every Month
7:30pm at the Happy Dayz Diner in San Jose.

I think we can get enough NAXJA members out to take over the parking lot! :laugh3:

If you can get out of the house next Wednesday November 1st, come to Happy Dayz Dinner, all are welcome, and I have seen lots of NAXJA members out before like 5-90, Jes, Bryan C. Kernel, Capt. Nemo, and lots of others.

Who can make it?

Yeah most everything on that board you have to take lightly, leave your ego aside and grow think skin, but most people never get it. It is not a famly board like NAXJA, but the Wednesday meet and great people really are nice, try to come out next wednesday, a lot of the people that show up never even go to the on-line boards.

Lets try to get LOTS of People from NAXJA out next Wednesday, so you don't even have to talk to that group if you don't want to! ;)

Oh, I'll be there. They sound [highlight]exactly[/highlight] like my kinda people. It takes real dedication to generate 5 pages of posts which, as near as I can tell, go something like:
"Your a 'tard!"
"No, your a 'tard!"
"No, *your* a 'tard!"
"Show us your tits!"

Don't worry, online, I usually try to be pretty careful about what I say since things seem to escalate out of control pretty fast. In real life, once I get to know folks, I tend to be a sarcastic bastard with a fairly dark sense of humor :D.

Seems like that board is more like:
"I'm a tard!"
"No, I'm a Tard"
"NO *I'M* a Tard!"
"Want to see my tits!"

That PK board is more of a famaly style board, they meet up on Thursdays.
