This Okie from CO hasd been offered a job in San Angela (older name) after 6 months with no work here north of Denver.

I'll be getting a weekly rental room there until I get better situated both here and there after my move.
Are there any wheeling areas worthwhile in Tom Green County or in the north central TX area?
Are there any NAXJA members or non-members in the San Angelo area?

Sure hope this turns out good...

Im in Abilene about 90 miles away. You have twin buttes reservoir there that is supposed to be half way decent. Where you from in denver? Im from Aurora, been in texas for about 3 years now.

My home is in Mead, 30 mi. n/o Denver, 2 mi. northwest of CO Hwy 66 & I-25 (exit 245).

I saw twin buttes reservoir on a map and thought: hmmm, maybe... Now for sure it will be one of my first weekend activities.

I'm moving after contract funds are let loose (1-2 weeks) and prob. the weekend before my undetermined start date. Hopefully, mid April.

Ok just so you will fit in here. You might want to start learning how to be a Texan.

you will have to lean.....

how to barbecue.

the start and end dates of duck season, dove season, and deer season (hunting, that is).

how to use the following words or phrases: andale, que pasa? (or que paso’?), cerveza, chalupa, tostada, cabrito, quinceanaria. (Points are subtracted, however, if you don’t say ‘em right.)

Drink Shiner or Lonestar beer or sweet tea.

after living here for a year you will have to take the Oath.

Raise your right hand and recite the Texas Oath of Naturalization:

“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign football team, university, barbecue sauce, jalapeno pepper, boot maker or pickup truck of whom or which I have heretofore been a fan or a consumer; that I will support and defend the Texas way of life and the customs of its citizens against all anti-Texans, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms every hunting season against feral hogs on behalf of Texas; that I will perform acts of chili-preparation greatness; and that I take this obligation freely without any reservation because great barbecue joints don’t require them; so help me y’all.”

Congratulations. You’re now a Texan.

You forgot to add he has to be learned how to say:

yanto (want to)
Raise that winder down
Ya'll

And the proper what to use rectum as in: "I have two trucks and my wife recutm both!"
