Round 3 South Bend Meet and Greet.

for those that did not gaze on it's magnificence , it is a palm m130 running the auterra software .
http://www.auterraweb.com/index.html
being a mechanic / technician i use it @ work a couple of times a day ,
it's faster to connect and smaller than our factory scan tool , and not brand specific . ( any obd2 vehicle )

I gots me a M100 for data logging OBD1 Mitsus. It would be nice to have a OBD2, but personally owning 0 OBD2 cars, I can't justify $189 for it.

I've got a suprise too, though it's probably not as cool as Randy's. See you guys Sunday.

My scan tool is free :D

Thanks Advanced Auto

autozone will check codes free also , but they want to sell parts .
so knowing what the code is helps , but knowing what to do with that info is usually out of their element on some of these modern vehicles .
for example : just because you have an o2 sensor code doesnt always mean the sensor is bad .

the obd2 standard was the governments attempt to level the playing field so anyone could check / clear codes ,
but without the proper diagnostic tools / procedures this just created a whole new group of " part throwers " .

so memorizing every spec and quoting the service manual is ok , ( if you have the extra space in the grey matter )
but absorbing and utilizing THEORY is where it's at in the real world.
( you can change the car / truck , but you cant change the theory behind why it works , at least until we start flying " jetsonmobiles " )

( a not for profit group of psycho's and pyro's )

Would anybody be interested in removing my oxygen sensor so I can inspect/clean it? I tried everything today and it wouldn't budge....I replaced it about a year ago, I'm not sure how I got it loose then!

EDIT - I replaced it last year and then used some seafoam/marvel to "cleanse" the engine....just want to make sure there's no build up on the sensor from all of that.

OOh Ooh not me. I looked at those bumper caps though, rears are both wasted, fronts are good but not off yet. If you haven't found any I'll get them off eventually and you can have em.

I just noticed Matt has turned red.

I got my box and compressor done as well.:guitar:

I was just out stairing at the freshly painted boomerangs, and also at the Skid Row Control arm skids. Notice I said "just" and im here on the computer. Too freaking cold, im not in the mood.

I did manage to change the oil in the wifes Tahoe today, i also installed 2 new headlights in the XJ, as well as greased all the joints for the long arms....Other than that, I've watched spongebob/Mickey Mouse Clubhouse/Little Einstiens today. It's been eventful.

What time does this meet and greet thing happen again? 3? I suppose I could go back and look at the first post eh?
