After 20 years it is time to replace the roof on our house.It has 3 tab shingles.
We want to up-grade to 30 yr aritchual (sp) shingles.Tamko brand . Roofer measured it at 21 squares,included is new drip edge,30# underlayment,ridge vent,pipe flashing,and a rubber piece to prevent ice from backing up under shingles.
Removal and disposal of old shingles included in cost
Quote of $210 per square=$4300 +/-
Any wood replacement at time& material,$15 per hr.

I think thats a good deal

A friend of mine recently had his 2800 sf house re-roofed. I belive it cost him about $5200, which included removal and disposal of the old roof, replacement of some rotted plyswood underlayment, new plywood underlayment where there use to be slats for cedar shake roofing over one his garages (his house has three double deep garages, one - three bay, two -two bay...yikes!), , and two replacement 4' x 4' skylights. He got the Elk brand architectural style comp shingles with a 40 year life rating....

Your price seems reasonable.... Again, be sure the contracted is insured and bonded.
