Road Trip.... Athens, GA Cahttanooga, TN!

Yeap that is right I'm heading that way. May 4th I am going to see a friend from High School perform at The Go Bar in Athens, GA. I will then head to Nooga! I have a Retirement party to attend on Sunday. So Saturday I will be in Chat-Vegas hanging with some old friends I hope! Anyone familiar with the "Go Bar" in Athens and know what hotels are reasonable downtown near it and are safe? You Nooga guys what hotels are there downtown now? I'm sure the Reed house is still there but I think that might be out of budget. LOL! If you happen to be near Athens then go see my friend he is quite talented. Mark I will bring that tail gate with me!

Glenn, I just got back from Chattanooga and stayed downtown. Just do a search for downtown hotels and a lot will pop up. For limited service there is a Hampton and a Hyatt Place a couple doors down from each other. I stayed at the Marriott for 2 nights and the Chattanoogan for one. Both pretty pricy and you have to pay to park.

DO NOT use the Days Inn downtown.

If you don't want to stay right downtown, there are a lot of limited service hotels out near Hamilton Place Mall.

We stayed at the Chattanoogan a few weeks ago. Very nice and not too pricey if you shop online. Seems like my wife got us a room for just under $150 or was it just over $100?

Mine was $179 + tax and $8 parking, but I was there during a citywide convention. And yes, it is a nice property. The beds are softer at the Marriott though!

And if you stay down there, stop by the Southside Saloon. They have a pile of tokens by the door. If you take one when you walk in and give it to your server, they give you the first beer free. Granted, it is Miller High Life, but cold free beer is cold free beer.

You should come by the shop since you'll be in town. I would ask if you have my number, but considering it flashes at the top of the site several times a day, I figure pretty much everybody has my number! Lol! There are some cheaper hotels in east Brainerd area and its a good part of town. Dont have to worry about any trouble makers.

I was and am going to try and do that. It was on my list of things to do while there. Is Dan still around? Was hoping to see you both acually. I know I will not get to Nooga till Saturday some time. It's a Baylor thing I'm coming to and I know a few people that I have not seen since literally 1988 might be around. Athens is my home town, born and bred. Didn't move to Atlanta till Rebecca and I were wed in 2000.
