I am soon going to be buying new tires and i am on a very limited budget i was wondering if anyone had any information about the high tech-retread D-mud tires
I was wondering how well the tires grap and clean to also if what the side of the tire looks like since on the website they only show the front of the tire. any infrotmation about these would be helpful thankyou
by the way this is my dads account but i also have a jeep cherokee

The D-Mud is identical tread pattern to the Dunlop Mud Rover. I put a set of 33's on a friend's '96 XJ (screen name here is Scarface,) but he rarely wheels it so I don't know how well they perform. The sidewall would look like whatever tire carcass they use, so it changes from one run to the next... they ship matching tires when you buy a set.

I have the AT-D on my Suburban in 235/85R16, and have been pleased with them. 25k miles so far under a heavy vehicle and still plenty of tread left. I got the green diamonds as an experiment, but haven't gotten the opportunity to try them out in icy weather yet.

i had a set of the 33" muds on my last cherokee and absolutely loved them....theyre very similar in tread design to the dunlop muds. they had about 20k on them when i sold them with the jeep, and they had another 20 left in them at least. best tire for the money A+

I was close to getting them until I learned they are not good for airing down.
Running them aired down often off road can lead to the tread seperating from the tire. I believe it mentions that on Hi-Techs website also. For road use and non-aired down use, I have heard they work great.

I beat the crap out of my 31" mud retreads from them and hadn't had a problem. I run them at 10 PSI when offroading. Just don't run them on the road at higher speeds. I've probably got 10k on them and had no problems. They work good in the traction dept and clean out pretty good. I'll probably buy again but ask for a better carcass, mine are just the Goodyear GS/R or what ever they are (street tire). A good BFG or MTR would be good that have a stronger sidewall.

Need to update my comment to include that All tire manufacturers will tell you that running aired down is not good for a tire. I'm still researching this topic. Looking for long term retread use opinions. Also info about wear from those that run aired down off road, but make sure to air up on road. Any more comments? Thanks.

I have the 33x12.5 Mud terrain from High tec retreads. They are excellent. Mine are on BFG carcasses and I could not be happier. I run them at 10psi off road all the time and they do just fine. I have about 20k on them so far and they still have along way to go. Mine are siped and they clean mud very well compared to BFG MT and MTR's even in the NW sticky stuff we get.

I have talked to lots of people with them and have not found one that was not happy yet.
Best bang for your buck in my mind.

I am running the 37" hummer retreads from them no problems to date. They are ok for the money. I air mine down as far as 3 psi and they have not come apart yet. The sidewalls are not as strong as I would like but that has nothing to do with the retread.

That was partially my thought. I wanted a less expensive option. Why not recycle?

No you can't send them your tires. They pick their tires with certain requirements and the tires go through a lot of inspection. Have heard only good things about these tires from Jeep owners and I have done a lot of searching.
