[FONT=&quot] [/FONT][FONT=&quot]A couple months ago, I installed a set of Fiveo Motorsports injectors in my 2001 XJ to cure an idle problem.

The injectors are a direct replacement, a plug-n-play part.
Fiveo recommended coating the o-rings in motor oil just before installing.
Be careful removing the plugs, the plastic can be very brittle.

It now feels a little snappier with a moderate increase in mileage but a new set of stock injectors may have done the same.

OK guys, here's my observations so far. I recorded an ave. of 13.07 mpg with my last tank. My usual mpg is in the low 11s. I run 4.56s with 50-60% tread life 32" BFGs (new 33"s next month which will probably help a little), and recently did all the major tune up stuff. The current tank will be slightly better since I'm at more mileage with the gas gauge reading about the same. So mpg increase FOR ME is about 2. This will probably vary a lot depending on my driving. You see, my normal commute has me sitting with my junk in my hand waiting to cross a bridge over the Mohawk River. That's about 10-15, minutes of idle traffic 5 days a week. (F.U. Rexford bridge!)

My second observation is that these make the engine run smoother at idle and during acceleration. Gas pedal response is also snappier. I also recently upgraded the main wiring to 4awg. Let me tell you, THAT smoothed out the engine more than the injector upgrade.

Conclusion- Definitely worth it for the mileage increase alone. Hell, for under $50 shipped on ebay, it's a steal.

If I can see even a 1MPG improvement, the payback period for me will be very, very short since I do a ton of driving for work.

If you have the HO motor. No. Wrong ones. If you don't, you should be good. The HO motor needs 21lbs.

No he doesn't.

If a ford injector is spec flow of 19# @ 39psi then that same injector will flow up to 23.87# @ 49psi in our 99-01 XJs. Anything more is overkill and will probably decrease your mileage a little.

Good catch. Mine flows at 39psi. Unless I change it.

Someone posted and said you could do 24# and the computer wouldn't allow it to go higher than needed. Not sure if that's OBI or OBII. Those are cheap too.
