Renix block

oh no. not the waggy...

oh no. not the waggy...
Short story: nope, it’s all good

Long story: I took it to a local shop to diagnose and hopefully deal with a chirp/squeal from some accessory. I could not pinpoint and did not want to throw parts at it like I have been doing with the buggy. (Weird that they both have similar noise?) The shop said it was the mechanical fan bearing on the a/c mounting bracket and sourced a replacement bracket, but started the engine with no serpentine belt and said “OMG the engine is knocking”. I said no, just button it up how it is and don’t even replace the bracket. I could not justify having a shop replace the engine but think it could be fun to do a budget stroker/rebuild in the garage and do a swap in a couple weekends if/when the block ventilates.
