Red Jeeps reincarnation

My plans for it were to lower and supercharge it. Look how well that turned out.

It might have taken the hit better if lowered... not sure.

Or it might have just pushed the frame rails and hatch in instead of folding them up.

little worried about running the claytons without a sway bar considering im supposed to drive up to school in nh on friday and im putting them on today.... hope it isnt too sketchy

NBS red jeep didn't have a sway bat on when you bought it. I drove it for years without one, hell I can't even remember the last time I drove a XJ with a sway bar.

tbh i dont think ive ever driven a jeep with sway bars, unless you count when redjeep 2 was stock and i had to drive it back to my house from buying it. cant say i miss them in the slightest.

also nbs if I had found a way to keep the original redjeep, that thing would have become a race jeep no doubt. such a waste of a beautiful 2 door !!!1

finally got the long arms on the day before I left for college, ran into some issues i probably should have seen coming but it came together quite nicely.

tried to figure out a way to integrate the brackets into the crossmember to keep the joint out of the way, but I was in waaay to much of a time crunch so just ended up slapping em right on. I'll probably figure out another crossmember solution later so they dont hang down as much, but for now i can deal with them being rock magnets.

also got the pieces of the frame stiffeners that had to be cut off welded up too, pretty solid improvement over what that spot first looked like. still have some floor patching to do but god did i hate that spot of frame cancer.

the lca mount skids (as much as i love them) had to be trimmed a bit to compensate for the much larger arm too. Sorry Ross!!! Hopefully i can find a way to still keep em covered till i find something a bit beefier than a d30. or maybe ill just do cromo shafts. idk. im conflicted when it comes to the front.

havent fully flexed it out yet but considering i just realized that 2 of my shocks are already leaking a fair bit of oil, might be worth saving up for some longer travel fox 2.0s or something, not sure what length would be best though. oh and brake lines, those would be good too.

other than that i jumped right on the road for 2 hours up to college without a hiccup. jeep drove perfectly and holy balls does it drive smoother with the new arms, so pumped to go wheeling again.

JCR stage 3 sliders arrived back down in mass today, definitely going to try and make it back home this weekend to throw em on before rocktoberfest. still kicking myself for dropping that much on pre fabbed sliders instead of just making my own and cutting out the rocker panels, but i dont have nearly enough time.

might just weld them straight onto the stiffeners instead of trying to tap the bolts through. this is still a ways off but would tying a cage into these be worth it?

made it back home this past weekend and got a decent amount of work done, sliders are on, rear fenders trimmed, oil changed, and gave her a bath. didnt get many pics during the process but im happy with the results

still mad I didnt have the time to do rocker replacements, but to be honest im not super concerned with the ground clearance considering how much the long arms hang down. ill do it right when i finally get a new welder. still not sure if starting the cage with these is a dumb idea or not, if i ever do sell them and do rocker replacements i guess i could just in theory cut the pillars shorter?

Check out exploringNH.com there's a lot if trails/people up there.

alright this forum officially confuses the shit outta me. made an account and tried to introduce myself in the "introduce yourself" section, but apparently my posting permissions wont even let me start a new thread, how am I supposed to find trails if i cant even create threads or reply to posts? am I missing something?

colin, i think you got exactly everything on my jeep, but you somehow get nicer and newer ones, bastard. you are gonna force me to blow all of my paychecks making my jeep better

that was my plan all along.....better get blowing, those fancy 37's aren't gonna spin themselves! :moon:

Sooooo not too much has happened mechanically over the past couple weeks, just some small things here and there.

got the crown extended brake lines all bled in time for rocktoberfest, also lazily threw hockey pucks in the coils. didnt take long for them to fall out.

aaand then the hardline snapped first run. missed half of the fun on saturday but Michael (Mpeckham22) and I made up for it sunday.

also I have to say sleeping in the jeep was much warmer than expected, can't say I would have been happier with a tent.

Brianna agreed.

since Rocktoberfest I've tried to explore around NH a bit more and find some wheeling. Taken a couple runs with some awesome local guys which has been really helpful. Whether it be with exploringnh.com, or just local guys I shot shit with, the trails ive been shown aren't anything crazy, but just enough to have fun on and always prove to be a great time. Gotta love not needing to drive hours to the closest trail.

somehow always manage to get zero good action shots, but you get the idea.

also replaced these recently. think its safe to say I found my misfire.

also finally wired in the hellas, and flushed my heater core so now I have heat...ish. keep losing direction with what to do next, so I might just sack up and start building a 44 for the front too. not sure how well that will go though.

Sooooo was driving back to my house today, couple streets away I hit a pot hole, hear a snap, and feel my drivers rear tire get sucked up into the wheel well.... immediately pull over, and this is what I find

drivers side u bolt eliminator snapped so I just ratchet strapped it in place and limped it home. was really hoping to find a new set of axles to throw in before something like this happened, but guess I'll just have to sack up spend the money and build this bitch right and find a 44 to get under the front
