recommend me a tool box

Man, I'd love to have that Craftsman box. I'd recommend you put that one on Craigslist and then use that cash to buy a larger one off Craigslist. I wouldn't go credit on a new one.

Also get on some estate sale websites. I see boxes and tools every week.

Craigslist is the way to go if youre around a larger city. You never know whats going to pop up there. I got my first Craftsman box from the Sears outlet for 1/2 off. I got my 36" Stanly box (same manufacturer as the Craftsman) from Costco on close out for $400. For boxes that stays in one place in the garage, they are great.

On the other hand, my hangar box... Craftsman Professional box... With nice tools, have a box that locks very well.

if craftsman is good enough for you (like it is me), try waiting untill after christmas. then go into the sears tool dept. and see what people have returned. many times boxes with small dents/scratches are returned for exchange, or full refunds for some that just dont want/need the box. they mark them dowm considerably and resale them. i have gotten a few items this way for atleast half price.

I like my Mac boxes...I walked on my first Mac truck at 19 with no credit just a couple years ago and they extend their own line of credit. The Mac Tech series fits your sizes.

i ended up with a used snap on box, 535 with tax, paying cash over the corse of a month or so.

i ran out of space again already :/

very nice. you can never go wrong with a snap on, matco, mac, or any high end box. on a side note, i still have and use my very first craftsman top box (30 years ago) that is set up almost exactly like that one, and amazingly it still holds my tools. and it is the home tool storage one, not the better one. not trying to knock your snap on, wish i had all snap on. i just have learned that if you are not a mechanic that needs to have a box like that for work, the cheaper ones will do you well. then again, i also use steal filing cabinets for tool boxes too for the larger tools.

One thing that I recommend is a nice cart with lots of space. I think it is a better investment than a BIG tool box. Yes, they are spendy but worth it.
Nice deal on your find tho.

I have a snap on double bay krl roller and a cornwell master cart but they were $$$. I have a friend that just bought a box at menards called a masterforce or something like that. I think he paid around $6-700 drawers seem really smooth and not flimsy either.

If you're a student, you can get pretty deep discounts from the big names - I got my Mac roller cab box for ~600. If I run out of space, I can just stack another box on top.

I've got a friend who drools over that thing @ Lowes. As far as im concerned i already have a much bigger beer fridge and the speakers up top would just get blocked by all the stuff id have up there.
it's cool and gimmikey, but thats about it. Not to be a party pooper but id spend on well built drawers that wont fall out and casters that roll with a lof of weight on them over some battery operated LEDs.

i eat generic mac & cheese & do not drink alcohol or soda so i can afford them,
but i do not scrimp on tools & only use the best, Snap-On. :patriot:

love my kobalt top box. if i had the space, id get a bottom one too. super nice stuff and super durable. the cheap(er) ones dont have full extension drawers, but hey, no box in and some above that price range do.
