Homeowners' Associations suck AZZ.

Uptight peckerheads with no real authority, imposing their arbitrary will (there's no actual rule against the flagpole) with no means of appeal.

I'll NEVER live under one.

I think that just about sums it up. Thread over in OT about it as well. Same general response from everybody but the HOA. Go figure.

This is the 2nd thread on NAXJA on this subject.

I don't see the harm in letting a 90yr old guy errect a flagpole and letting him fly the flag. IMO, it is every American's right to fly the flag if they so choose. It also appears, that house mounted flags are allowed by the HOA, and that at some point, he was given permission by a previous HOA prez to errect his flag pole, so I don't know what the hoopla is about.

That last video is just wrong. But that's America. You are allowed to speak your mind; just be prepared to accept the consequences if someone doesn't like what you said or did while on your soap box :D

I'd run it up anyways.

By the time the HOA develops a plan for legal action, it won't matter anyways. It would get tried in the media, by the time it hit a judge, no publicly elected official would dare punish a MOH winner for flying the american flag.

What are they going to do, take his birthday away?

wow, thats all i can say. that just made me sick to my stomach. i wish he would allow comments on that video. the words i would have with that man, his freedoms should be taken away

I'd shove my XD down his throat! He says they wasted tax payer dollars. I bet he doesn't even have a job nor has the little punk contributed to society whatsoever! My dad is a Veteran and I know many others. I am not violent at all but I could make an exception for this douchebag! Pirate Time! :D I posted a link on Pirate. This oughta be fun! :D

I served to preserve his freedom as much as anybody's.

As such, he is free to be as big an attention-seeking jackass as he wants. It shouldn't affect anyone in the least, unlike an out of control HOA.

Although, come to think of it, the grave-spitting could border on vandalism...
