rear swaybar discos?

have any of you herd of, or made rear swaybar discos? i know most of you take your swaybars off in the rear but my parents wont let me do that so im trying to figure out a way to disco it. Let me know if yall have any ideas thanks!:cheers:

Not sure if this will work. It's been years since I have seen the rear sway bar on an xj. Could you remove the bolt at the leaf spring and replace it with a hitch pin? The top has a bolt too? If so either replace it with pin or loosen it and zip tie link up and out of the way.

Just take it off... keep your mouth shut, and keep jeepin'...

...do your parents look under your jeep regularly? And if for some reason they do, are they gonna notice the swaybar missing?
 
yeah, i say take it off, throw it in a dumpster away from home, and don't mention it. you won't notice it being gone on the road, but you will at the worst time on the trail.
just chuck it, and forget all about it.
 
X whatever. Get rid of it, its a useless item. Dont tell maw and paw, they will never know (unless your folks are XJ people, and actually get under them?)
 
Do your parents check under your jeep regularly, or drive it? In the words of Henry Winkler, what momma don't know, dont hurt her. Lol. Nah listen to your parents... ;)

Crap, should have read the thread, others beat me to it. If you got the tools, feel free to use my apartment parking lot, they don't like it, but they haven't said anything yet, and my lease ends in august.

Also, If your planning on tossing it, Ill take it. Will look good in my random pile of shit parts that might one day get used again.
 
I spend lots of time (dd) on the road and my olc mans drives like poopoo at 60 on the freeway has no rear swaybar .Thinking of using ford truck sway bar ends in the front shaped about the same but 3 inches longer and how do I post pics (a little green behind my ears):greensmok
 
Do keep the mounts for the rear sway. They make good bar-pin eliminators for the rear shocks.

Xwhatever, and if they were XJ people they would realize that the rear swaybar is a toothpick and does absolutely nothing, and wouldn't care if you remove it.

I removed mine and never noticed, was going to reinstall it but I didn't feel like trying to get the darn thing to line up while installing the U-bolts. So I gave it to the guy who picks up my scrapmetal...
 
alright i will keep the mounts:) and the ford truck links sound like a really good idea because i need new swaybar links in the front anyway and im sure i can pick em up cheapp :) and i may just show my rents this thread so they realize that the rear swaybar doesnt do a thing haha
