Rear hatch lock removal

Has anyone been able to remove the lock cylinder on the rear hatch and have it re keyed? I picked up a new tailgate and don't want to carry around multiple keys. Or better yet is there a way to swap the locks? Thanks again

Pull the panel, and there should just be a metal clip holding it in place IIRC. A locksmith should be able to key it for you.
If you can find a full set of matching lock cylinders you can swap them. The doors are kinda a PITA, but can be done.

Ive done doors before on an 89 cherokee. Was more difficult because I installed earlier model cylinders to get a matching door/ignition but I've never dealt with the hatch. I appreciate the heads up. Was worried it was welded or riveted in.

Not sure what year you have but on the 97+ I just swap the whole handle out. I've found that easier than trying to swap just the cylinder.
