Does anyone have first hand seat-of-the-pants experience with the difference between the super ride and super flex 3.5 inch? Im looking for a 3.5" lift and its between those two...price will be about the same as I would buy new spring packs for the AAL in the super ride kit. I just dont know if the super flex would make for a bad daily...however Im thinking the added ability would outway any concerns Id have with a smooth ride...Opinions?

the main difference between super ride and super flex is the fact that the super flex has a full leaf pack and the super ride has an add a leaf.

both will lift fine, and the super ride might be softer, but the super flex will settle higher and stay perky much longer, and will break in to be rather soft.

I have had the super flex on my cherokee( MY DD)for about 2 or 3 months now and I love it. I bought this kit for the extra flex just in case I would want it when I go wheeling. I would say this kit gave me 4 to 4.5 inches of lift. Hope that helps.

wrong, you can buy either kit with AAL's or Full Leaf packs

Hey Chris, this is Tim (91sts-gli). Go with the super-flex. It will still provide a good ride (lots of people claim that it rides better than stock...) and will allow for more flexibility offroad. It's definatley a great starting point!

Did you put in a xfer drop? Did it sit higher in the back when you first put it in? I have had mine in for about a week and it sits too high in back and also has a vibration when accelerating.(In reference to Semper Fi...)

wow there is a ton of bad info in this thread....search, the differences have been posted a million times, specifically JeepinJason on this board, JeepsUnlimited, and Jeepin.com had explained this.

i did search....but reading through hundreds of posts i couldnt find a good answer...thanks for the screen name to search under... it should help. But i think tims right...the superflex seems like a good starting point

Chris,

Something you *might * have to look into if you do get driveline vibrations after you install your lift is either a transfer case drop, ORRR get a slip yoke eliminator and have a custom driveshaft made. What happens is when you lift the suspension, it creates a sharper angle on the driveshaft, and it can bind a bit, creating vibration and noise. The transfer case drop does just what it says, BUT it decreases ground clearance. I consider a t-case drop as a temporary "patch" until you have the money or whatever means needed for the SYE and driveshaft.

Chris, I'll try to call you today. I've just had a TON going on lately. I barely have time to breath!

RWD, I sent you an off line answering your questions. Sorry it took so long!! 91 Jeep Project, thanks for tinting my windows. You have helped me convince my wife to let me tint them. By the way My Cherokee is a 2000 with the 4.0L and it sits about 1 inch high in the rear. I have 265/70/16's (31's) on it. The General Grabber AT2's are great tires!!! They look like the BFG's but mine only cost $90 and the BFG's cost $160+/-.
