R.I.P. Donald "Duck" Dunn

Sad news out of Tokyo today.
Famed muscian Donald "Duck" Dunn passed away at the age of 70.

Some of you younger guys might not have heard of him but the guy was amazing.

I was lucky enough to see him perform with John Belushi and Dan Akroyd in Memphis, Tn. in 1980 when they did their Breifcase Full of Blues Tour....Yes they really did travel the world as the Blues brothers, amazing show too.

Dunn was the guitar player for Booker T and the MG's. If you never heard of them, give a listen....






RIP Duck...and thanks for the music.

Donald "Duck" Dunn, the bassist who helped create the gritty Memphis soul sound at Stax Records in the 1960s as part of the legendary group Booker T. and the MGs and contributed to such classics as "In the Midnight Hour," "Hold On I'm Coming" and "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay," died Sunday at 70.
