Quit smokin!!!

XJ Stryker

WHO DAT!
Well i am now at my 36 hour mark of quitting smoking I am on the new pills called Chantix. They are awesome not even really any cravings to smoke. If i do get a lil bit i just pop a mint or piece of gum and then i forget about it. Great drug 1,000,000 times better than the pitiful zyban.

Info if you want it.

This is a prescription drug so you have to see the Doc for it. They offer a beginners program where they give you the .5mg pills. Not worth it might as well dive right in to the 1.0 mg pills they have the same side effects.

Side Effects. stomach irritation for the first couple of days. Sometimes may take a lil longer to fall asleep. You may find yourself wanting to nap a lil after work or when ever you get a chance. (havn't been working on the jeep all week). Makes coffee and Beer taste different lol maybe cause there is no cigarette hanging out my mouth. Good side effect. Dreams are awesome. everything is more realistic. Benefit for some dreams but if you have nightmares i feel sorry for you.

This is my third time using these pills it makes it so easy to quit that you may find your self smoking again after a few months just cause you know it is so easy to quit. This is my last time though. I am ready.

Just some FYI if you want any more info just ask i will monitor this thread.

:yelclap: That's awesome man!!!

that's the medicine that has caused dozens of people to hallucinate and commit suicide, I'd talk to your doctor about this one man. some have compared it to low grade meth

Really I need to get some more then...

On the real I have seen it cause a lil depression in some people but if it makes you depressed STOP FRICKING TAKING IT THEN. I mean like i said this is my what 3rd 4th time doing it and has worked awesome everytime. I just got to stick with it. I wasn't having any more cravings really when I started back up just drinking with buds or whatever and you do kinda miss the social part of smoking in the smoking shacks and what not.

I am proud of you keep up the good work!

My dad smoked for 30 years and tried everything to quit... twice! He tried pills, gum, hypnosis, acupuncture, support groups, cold turkey, and others.

I bought him this book last year... he hasn't touched a cigarette since he finished it! I called him a week into it (in the past he's all irritable at that point)... I asked, "so, how's the smoking thing going?". I swear... it actually took him a couple seconds to realize what I was talking about! It wasn't even on his mind a week later. He's definitely done... it's been 6 months now.

I've bought it for 4 more people since then and the ones that are done with the book are done with the cigarettes! I'm amazed!

My mother used it for a month about two months ago and hasn't touched a cigarette for two months.

It's a pretty big relief since 4 out of the 5 people people in my house were/are smokers.

I just ordered it from amazon only 15 bucks that is 4-5 packs of smokes here to it is paid for in 2-3 days ya know. Figure it was worth it and if it works for me I will send it to my dad he has been trying to quit for a year or so. He did acupuncture with the laser and it worked for about 3 months then he had a relapse. Chantix worked great for him too. But he likes to drink and then forgets he is a non-smoker  I will try anything ONCE. lol

Dude! I was perscribed Chantix by a Doctor. After I started taking it I had the worst most realistic nightmare....In short, imagine yourself in that half sleep thing where you feel you are awake, and just kinda listening to sounds. Well I was lying there then I heard a noise like someone was in the room, but a small noise from like an animal, I then looked up, and saw this evil little demon/leprichan thing staring at me from a shelf, then I saw it slowly making it's way toward me.....Mind you this whole time I was like frozen to my bed, couldn't even sit up. I was totally freakin' out especially once it dropped onto the floor and I couldn't tell wher it was, or when it was going to jump on me at any second!! Well as you can tell I was scarred shitless, and that needless to say was the last Chantix I took--Chit was like a hundred bucks too! I gave them to my brother,:scared: but after hearing my story he was like NEH.

That is the funniest shit i have ever heard

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: I have had some messed up dreams but i always wake up and think i am going crazy for a minute then realize it was just a dream. Sometimes I am relieved and sometimes i am like DAMN.

That's great! I am utterly astounded that people still smoke. There was a gentle DEATH warning in 1972, and kids are still picking up the habit at 16 or younger some 35+ years later! I watched my Dad die of lung cancer on Father's day back in 1985. He never met his grandchildren. Good luck, and I hope you're successful in becoming a non-smoker.

So after your nightmare, did you go outside and smoke to calm down. LOL! :greensmok

.

I'm interested in trying the pills. I get vivid dreams from lots of things--traveling, spiced teas, some kinds of foods--so that doesn't really bother me. What I am afraid of is become lackadaisical at work and I hear that these things make you not care about much of anything.

cold turkey

Not that i am aware of look i posted this cause i care.

lol

Well worth any side effects you may feel cause you are saving your life.

No matter what they say about this pill. how many people have died from smoking. IMHO this pill is as safe as taking advil.

I'm also on Chantix right now. Lucky for me, i'm in the airforce and we can get it for free by participating in a their tobacco cessation program. I think the stuff works well. Physical cravings are non-existant, its all psychological for me right now. I cant sleep while I'm on this stuff though. I will sleep maybe four hours a night. A few people told me that chantix will make you sick when you think about smoking, wich I think is BS. It just got rid of the cravings for me. Good luck with quiting though.

LOL:greensmok I thought about it but the pills are actually effective. It took a couple days not taking the pill then I was back on. It is a shitty addiction, and difficult to shake:thumbup: so I commend anyone who is trying.
