I am pretty interested in the ones for front and rear from slickrockgear. I have searched, but haven't found feedback on them.

Any thoughts?

Any other brands to consider?

EDIT: and IMO Thor's (T&A XJ) guards/tail light boxes are BY FAR the top of the line..

I have never heard anything bad about them. A few people have run them say they hold up well. I have only seen one set on a Jeep that was up in Moab for the Safari. I like them and if I can ever save the money I plan on buying some for the front. In the rear I run Thor and C-Rok.

For the Rear I would run THOR4x4 quarter guards with the built in tail lights. By far the best quarter guard on the market. They are made of 3/16" steel and the fit is perfect. The tail lights is definately what puts them way over the top. Contact T&A XJ for direct information.

For the fronts there is not alot of options except for Slickrock Gears. I was very disappointed in the quality and fit of there product. I did not order their front fenders with the flares because I made my own. I had quit a few hours getting them to fit right and there still was some gaps. I was told they were pressed but found out after they arrived that the body line area was a three piece welded design. All I am saying is what you pay for them you would think the quality could be better.

I should have a rear quarter guard install thread and a tube fender build thead on just to give you ideas.

the slickrock gear panels were well built but did not fit well on my 99 - i think that was becasue they do not have the curvature of the thor's or the older rock lizzard gaurds - i sold mine and eventually will build some out of poly UMHV in the 1/4 variety - much lighter than steel plates, easier to bend which were super heavy - nothing against the company but they take a lot of massaging to get a snug fit - not a complete bolt on panel b/c you have to do some cutting anyways

Go with the Thor guards. I know a bunch of guys around the NW that abuse them regularly, and they fit great.

I have the Slikrocks and I love them. Yeah, they don't just slap on in an hour and they take a little finnesse to get them to fit just right, but they are super tough, look great and have the fenders built in so I don;t have to have mudflaps. I like them and would buy them again. I've changed almost everything on my XJ and the first thing everyone comments on are the quarter panels.

these are the rocklizard fab quarter guards

no complaints , pretty happy with them . they stand up to trees / rocks and toyota's well (well those are the things that have come incontact with them anyway)

Everytime I see that nice orange Jeep it reminds of me burning break smell. He passed me in the mountains between Silverton an Ouray with that rig on a trailer and he was smoking his breaks on the way down the mountain. Not real bad like some Colorado tourist we get but bad enough. If sombody knows him pass it on.
