Hi all...

I've got a '88 non-HO I-6 sitting in my gaurage on an engine stand. I want to at least rebuild it if not bore & stroke it. This engine has a non-HO head on it. When I'm ready, I'll want to pull the HO I-6 out of my '92 XJ, pull and rebuild the head from this engine, place it onto the '88 non-HO block, and toss the combination back into my '92 XJ.

What problems will I encounter when trying to replace a HO block with a non HO?

Thanks!

strictly speaking, when you do an engine swap in CA, you're supposed to install an engine of the same or newer model year then the engine being removed. Mechanically speaking, there should be no issues putting the HO head on your Renix block. Several people with Renix blocks have installed HO heads to take advantage of the better flowing intake & exhaust. since you already have the HO computer, you won't have to deal with dissimilar sensors and wiring, which is an obstacle if you were to install an HO head in a Renix Jeep.

hope this wasn't too confusing :D
