Pull a Part Trip

I decided to hit a pull a part this morning, and went to Queen City Pull a Part in Clarksville since I hadn't been there before. It's a smaller yard than Nashville and the prices are a little higher, but they seemed to have a bigger variety than Nashville and their stuff hadn't been picked as hard.

They had about a half dozen or so XJ's, all pre 97. The real gem I found was an old XJ, an 87 I believe, that has a 4 banger and manual trans. It had the elusive front skid I had been searching for and still has a factory gas tank skid, a D44 rear axle, and the front is still in it as well. It looked like a flood vehicle so the diffs may be full of water, I don't know.

They also had a 4 cylinder two wheel drive MJ that is mostly complete. I didn't think to look until after I had left, but it may have a 44 under it as well and the shackles were still on it if anyone is looking.

Besides the front skid, I also picked up an electric fan that may or may not work for a conversion, 8 of the orange Ford injectors, and a spare throttle body to possibly try my hand at boring one out.

My total investment was about 5 hours and $35. The guy didn't charge me for the front skid or the injectors.

you did good, i got charged almost $6 apiece for orange injectors last weekend in knoxville.

I don't know if the guy was just being nice or didn't want to look up the price or what but when he said "I ain't gonna charge you for the injectors and splash shield", I wasn't about to argue. I didn't even really have to pull the injectors either. Someone had already taken the intake manifold and heads and had left the injectors hanging in the fuel rail.

What kinda car did you pull the injectors off of? Im gonna make a trip to the one here in Charlotte tomorrow and am gonna look for some since mines are leaky.

I pulled them from an 03 or 04 Ford Crown Vic with the 4.6L engine. The part number on them is 0280155917 and they are orange with a 4 port nozzle. Supposed to be a direct swap for the 99 and up models. If I remember correctly you have an older model so you will have to use a different injector, but I would definitely try to find some with 4 ports as opposed to a stock replacement injector as they are supposed to be a good upgrade for the XJ.

Well I went to pullapart today here in Charlotte. I was able to score a factory sound bar with wiring harness, new front marker lights, a new dash trim piece and 8 of the yellow ford injectors (the ones I needed). Got em all for just 12 bucks. The lady didnt charge me for the injectors either.
