PS2 and 7" LCD Monitor Idea

Ok, everyone that I talk to about this and ask for advice on how to do it thinks i'm nuts.

I"m going to buy a new PS2 (one of the teeny ones), a 7" LCD monitor, and GTA San Andreas (relief from road rage while in chicago traffic!)

However, I want to be able to take out the PS2 for security and to use it at my apartment. I have a pioneer receiver that has yet to be installed that has RCA inputs. The sound of me blowing up a helicopter with and RPG will be loud as SH!T!!! Essentially what I want to do is find the factory wiring and 110 volt outlet from a WJ or maybe an XJ limited (not sure if they came with that option) and install it in my center console, and mount the couplers from the RCAs at the same spot. I want to also have the LCD monitor to have a mount on the top of the dash that will somehow power it, and be able to take off the monitor when it's not in use. Has anyone done this or have any ideas of how I can go about doing it?

*EDIT* What is a decent $100 range 7" LCD Monitor? speakers aren't necessary.

I've played my PS2 in the jeep. 110v is pretty strait foreward, Hardwire a voltage inverter to the battery. I ran an extention from the inverter back into the dash fastory clock location and put in a standard household outlet

I have the audio jacks to my stereo as well.. that rocks. But I had a temporary setup for the PS2 and a 13" TV in the back near the tailgate so when I was car camping I could lay down and playor watch DVDs in the back.

I would STRONGLY advise against playing it from the driver's seat. It's too much of a distraction and WILL make you start thinking of jumping curbs and running down pedestrians.

Yea I probably won't be playing it too often, but I always have people in my XJ and I do a lot of traveling (20,000 miles since I bought her in May). It'll be a very addition. I really really like the idea of having household plugs like that. I think I'll only need one, and just hardwire a 12v monitor to the battery.

Don't underestimate the use of having an extra 110v plug.

I use it foreverything from PS2, table lamp, fog machine, power tools, changing batteries, flashlights, 2way radios. etc etc etc...

I've even been reduced to using my beloved jeep as a portable power outlets for testing holloween decorations...

Once you have it,you'll only find more uses. Also make sure to get a bigger inverter than you think you'll need

I'm doing something along the same lines - although only to run GPS mapping software and MP3 playback. No games or DVD or whatever.

I was planning on using the pull out display system sold at http://www.digitalww.com and will have a Mini-ITX based computer in the cargo area.

110V is a great thing to have. I have an old StatPower inverter that I'm going to hardwire into some outlets in the back as well. This won't be used to run the PC though (power control not good enough) - just appliances at camp.

Everyone likes that one... I gotta get a picture of it next time.

I've never used it while driving BUT it would be funny as hell to pull up next to sombody with smoke pooring out the windows, ask them if they have a fire extinguisher, when they say no...say oh well, no real problem anyways and drive away.
