After I checked out all the wires and whatnot it was time to stab the engine

Got some more pics to load and I'll get them up tomorrow.

you always wrap your header..if not there may be another baby header in 9 months.......

the newer sender gets ground, +5V, and sends back a signal, it's more similar to a MAP sensor than the old style resistive oil pressure senders. I thought they only used em on 00 and 01, guess they used them on 99s as well.

Header wrap? Why? Did I miss something?

Rev

Lots of heat coming off the stainless steel borla. It was burning wires about an inch away from them and I got tired of that. Helps keep the heat off the intake too. Mistake? We'll see

T, you a funny guy! :laugh3:

The injector plug end is like my '00 injector end too. There was a couple of other small differences.

I am happy to say that from Wednesday thru Sunday I'll be in the Lincoln County Forest playing Jeremiah Johnson and NOT thinking about this or work or the yard work or the house work, etc

:smoker: This is my birthday present to me

Yeah, that's a fact. But this time it's different. No longer do I harbor thoughts that there may be a short cut to this. I'm all set to drop the xmember and be done with it.

...but not until I get back. I haven't even packed my stuff yet. :paper:

Have fun Steve, I am anxiously awaiting my week away from civilization and killing things. :D

Well, I had to dig deep to bring this back up... :)

Due to health issues of late I haven't had time to really post anything these last few weeks. Gettin' older sucks when parts start to poop out.

Anyway...

Got the pile up and running again. Motor only has 78K on it and it runs really smooth. Lots of smoke from under the hood due to the header paint and the wrap.

I just have to throw in the front drive shaft, the skid plate covering the TC and a couple of odds and ends and it's all ready for Winterfest. Got to borrow a trailer

Oh, I trust the new engine - it's the rest of the heep I question :fuse:

I planned on retiring this as a semi-trailer queen. It's still registered and insured and I'm not saying I'll NEVER drive it but thats partly why I got the truck. Maybe I can go farther then Attica a lot easier and it takes the worry out of wheeling it.

:repair:
