Project: Rattle Rattle

Re: Project: The Silver Bullet

456 and front and rear lunch boxes are install. everything seemed to good pretty well and not problems on the 3 hour drive home.

transfer case swap is next on the list.

Re: Project: The Silver Bullet

You gonna be able to get everything done before the 2nd?

All i can do its try:repair:
technically it currently has front and rear tow points and somewhat aggressive tires. not to mention locked. the only thing that i would HAVE to get done before the 2nd is the sliders installed.

if the weather is "baby tent camping" acceptable then we should be there either way

Re: Project: The Silver Bullet

totally forgot about these couple pics I have, just some from during the gear install

he had to do a little grinding front and rear because the lockers would not fit past the ring gears. he said it should be fine and if by chance they do break, he will buy and install me a new set on the house.

thanks again mac, dude was a good guy.

Re: Project: The Silver Bullet

also, SYE'ed transfer case is in. Saturday i plan on going after the lift.

sliders might be a issue. the brackets were a bit bent and i didn't think it would pose a problem, but the were not lining up to well last night when i tried to install them. i will go at it again when i have more time to play around.

Re: Project: The Silver Bullet

Saturday mornings projects was to get the front lift installed. I had a wedding to get to so i wanted to work from 8 to 1.

every thing came off pretty simple. upper and lower arms came out nice and with the track bar out, the springs fell right out.

with a little prying and a tap with the hammer the 6.5in coils slide right in.

the lower arms bolted right back in but the uppers took some figuring out. finally after a lot of trial and error the blots lined up with the hole.

by this time i was already half hour late, so we got it down on the ground, installed the track bar and said i will worry about the shocks later.

so i had a 40 miles drive with no shocks and some pretty serious death wobble. took me about an hour.

tomorrow i will try and get it finished up

Re: Project: The Silver Bullet

Lookin good sam. The rear should be a lot easier than the front. Gonna look good when you get it all done.

Re: Project: The Silver Bullet

Actually I think they did fall off. All you had to do was touch them with your finger and they fell off.

Re: Project: The Silver Bullet

so after the transfer case with the SYE was installed, i started having bad vibrations, like riding a vibrator to work kind of vibrations. during the install 3 of the trans mount studs snapped and it currently has one.

is that the cause?
replace the trans mount and vibes go away?
is it causing anymore damaged other than shacking my ass numb? high priority?

Sam: It could be. My 2000 did the dame thing when the mount broke. I put a poly mount in. It does have more vibes than the stock one but I liked the fact that the after market one had bolts that went all the way through the mount.....

Ram" I get vibes now over 65 due to beadlocks" Rod
