Project Geosynchronous Orbit

Anthony will win that race. According the the original quote, it was intended to be a "race" for the slowest.

If you wanna have an actual speed race after our jeeps are done, I'll beat you. Smaller tires will let me go faster ;)

U have to make progress for that thing to get done fool....

Finished seamsealing and cleaning the wheel wells this morning and made some rear bumper mounts.

The cutout in the middle is for the dimple in the frame. I plan on adding more to these to grab the bottom 5" of the bumper.

Here's the big X crossmember I was trying to describe to you Bill.

Looking perpendicular to the pass side rail.

Looking straight up.

Fully boxed. Just as thick as the frame rails themselves.

Looking towards the front of the jeep from the rear bumper.

Hell ya, Colin let Rick paint it the same color as his RoadRunner.

He has 0 tools for painting. If i wanted to paint it that nice I'd just ask Gary myself.

Got the rear bumper 90% done today. Just need to add a hitch receiver in the middle and shackle hangers.

Also painted up the wheel wells while I was doing the bumper.

I bet the fumes in your tent were awesome. Welding gas, spraypaint, great for your respiratory system!

Better then cancer-causing vodka-made cutoff wheels. ;)

Colin, was it fun cleaning up that 2x5x.250 tubing too? :gee:

Haha I actually wore a surgical type mask and had a fan going so it wasnt too bad.

Meh, thought it was going to suck but only took me about 20 minutes with a 40 grit.

 Much better than it hanging down from underneath the bumper.

You probably have thought about this, but make a nice little "runway" for the front of the receiver that hangs below the bumper. Piece of plate from the edge of the receiver angled up to the bumper, and it will slide over stuff with ease.

Hangs too low, cut it off, make a new a bumper, scrap the comanche, buy a corolla.

ignore these fools, wheel the crap out of it, if it gets stuck slam it into the rocks harder till they let you by or the metal gets shaved down till it's a smooth slope that slides over rocks easily
